Trend: Florals

Autumn is always a difficult time for deciding what a girl is to wear, one minute the weather is gloriously hot and the next you are being wind swept down the street. A big trend hitting the high street this autumn is florals continuing from summer and we adore a floral print here at Traffic People. Florals can make you feel sweet and feminine, but you can also style them to be edgy and tough. You can get a large floral print, small floral print, mix-match florals, or just a floral accent.

Embrace the muted tones of the season

Autumn is a time when we want to embrace the warmer richer tones of the season in our wardrobe and your floral pallette should be no different. Opt for the moody tones of purple and pink whilst keeping it soft and feminine in chiffon fabrics and ruffles. Try our Muted Smock Dress for this look, team it with tights and ankle boots to keep cosy but feminine this autumn.

Opt for a classic shape

When going for all over floral, it can scare the bravest of us. For those not as fearless out there but wanting to embrace the print this season, opt for a simple shape like our old friend the shift dress or wrap dress. This shape is comfortable for most but can be livened up by a fabulous geometric floral display like the Doris Dress.

It's all in the detail

Sometimes it is all just about the accent on a dress, that little detail that takes an outfit from ordinary to our favourite piece in our wardrobe. We are loving the classic rose this season for detailing and this season it is turning our little black dress hero in to a floral masterpiece.

WOW up your workwear

Everyone thinks that workwear has to be boring but florals can be a subtle way to incorporate some fun in to your working wardrobe. Look for an office appropriate length in our friend the midi skirt and team with a colourful blouse for a way to brighten up those dull autumn afternoons.
